Register - 3 Day Workshop $150.00

Students will start at 10am each day.  Become familiar with the effects of non-toxic water based paints when they are pure or diluted, layered from opaque to transparent. Heat set for permanent, washable use in your quilts.

Suitable for all levels with no experience required. 

Paint on cottons, silks, bamboo, linen or any other natural textile of your choice.

Paints will be applied with sponges, brushes, bottles, wrinkled and crinkled, sun-dried, salted, sanded, and more…

Learn color mixing, fabric manipulation, stenciling, stamping and resist application.

WATER BASED FABRIC PAINT

I prefer Karen Pharr Studios textile paints but feel free to bring, Stewart Gill or Pebeo as well.

PAINT BRUSHES & ACCESSORIES

All types and sizes of brushes are great.
Also think out of the box like feather dusters, sea sponges, spatulas, or anything to make designs or dispenses liquid. Stencils and stamps are also a fun way to add depth and dimension.

FABRIC FOR PAINTING

Multiple yards of white fabric (PFD is not required). I use Moda or Kona both have a good thread count and are a nice weight. Black and White prints are perfect for getting an “over-dye” look. White Sateen makes a wonderful silky fabric for painting.

 5 mountain cottages available at Sulphur Springs Ranch

Cottages are beautifully decorated and furnished to sleep up to five. All are fully equipped with kitchens, wood stove with pre-cut wood, and a bathroom with shower.

Apache:
One private bedroom with a double bed, a small room with twin bed, living room with a double futon couch.

Bear’s Den:
One private bedroom with a queen bed, a small room with twin bed, living room with a double futon couch.

Coyote:
One private bedroom with a king bed, a small room with a twin bed, living room with a double futon couch.

Dakota:
Two private bedrooms, one with a queen bed, one with two twin beds and a double futon couch in living room.

Eagles’s Nest:
Two private bedrooms, one with a queen bed, one with a double bed and a double futon couch in the living room.
